Elga Andina was born in Padang, 28 June 1983. She earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology in 2005 and a Master's in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from the University of Indonesia (2008). Among her published academic papers were: Sadistic Crime by Teenagers: A Case Study of Begal (Armed Motorcycle Robbery) in Depok​ City (2015); Basic Mental Health Services in the Age of National Health Security (2015), andTeacher Competency Measurement Effectiveness (2018).
